Alfonso is a Mexican film director who was most famous in the Spanish-speaking world for his risque Y Tu Mama Tambien in which two young men go on a road trip with an older woman. Much sex ensues in the film so it its unsurprisingly an 18 certificate.

He’s also done a number of English language films including Harry Potter and Children of Men – a great film set in the UK.

He’s the winner of 21 film awards and 3 Oscar nominations. He’s one of Latin America’s best directors.
